Meet The Grounds Guys of League City, Pearland and Friendswood

Owner

Travis has been in the landscaping and irrigation business since 2007. He left the golf business and began working for a local company learning the ins and outs of landscaping, irrigation, and lawn maintenance. During that time, he also became a Licensed Irrigator. In 2009 he took over his father's business, Hicks Gutters, and added sprinklers to the business. From there, with the help of long-time friend and business partner, Travis Reed, they expanded the business and became The Grounds Guys of League City. Travis married his beautiful wife, Cari, in 2011. They live in Friendswood with their son Hudson and daughter Henley. In their spare time, they enjoy serving at their church, Clear Creek Community Church and leading a small group. Travis enjoys traveling, playing golf, and smoking meat on his pit.

Owner

Travis Reed transitioned from his career in banking to team up with his long-time friend Travis Hicks in launching The Grounds Guys of League City. Since its founding in 2013, Travis has been instrumental in growing the maintenance and landscaping services side of the business. Today, he oversees commercial projects, manages the sales side of the business, and handles day-to-day operations, ensuring the company’s continued success and commitment to exceptional customer service. Travis lives in Pearland with his wife, Brenda, and their four children: Jayden, Chloe, Kylie, and McKenzie. The family is deeply involved in their community through New Hope Church, where they actively serve. When he’s not working, Travis enjoys family time at the movies, diving into a good book, or discovering new restaurants with loved ones.

Office Manager

Melinda grew up in Alvin and now calls League City home, where she lives with her family. A proud mother of two ambitious and talented sons, Melinda brings both heart and expertise to her work. As the office manager at The Grounds Guys of League City, she plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s operations run smoothly and effectively. After a career in corporate accounts payable, Melinda joined The Grounds Guys team in 2017 and has loved contributing to the company’s growth and success ever since. In her free time, Melinda enjoys cooking, hunting for the best Mexican food spots, relaxing by the pool, and cheering on her kids as they golf

Landscape Designer

Originally from the West Coast, Jessa made the move to Texas seven years ago. Happily married to her best friend, she balances her professional career with the joys of raising two wonderful daughters, ages 2 and 15. With 12 years of experience in the landscaping industry, a degree in Horticulture, and a certificate in Landscape Design, Jessa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work. She takes pride in designing and crafting beautiful, functional outdoor spaces, making her a trusted professional in the field. Outside of work, Jessa enjoys fishing with her husband, running with her dog, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or on the grill. She believes in embracing life’s adventures, both in her career and at home.

Systems Manager

With a decade of experience at The Grounds Guys, Ryan has grown into a multifaceted manager who assists with landscape design, systems, IT, production, and graphic design. His expertise and dedication ensure seamless operations and innovative solutions, whether it's creating stunning landscapes or streamlining business systems. Outside of work, Ryan is a creative spirit who loves writing and playing music, as well as immersing himself in video games.

Operations Manager

Born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, Seth brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to The Grounds Guys of League City. He earned his degree in Finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake while working for a local credit union, honing his skills in financial management and customer service. Seth joined our team in 2020, contributing to sales, production, and account management. He now oversees all procurement and scheduling for all crews, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the board. His strong financial background makes him an invaluable asset, providing exceptional insights across all areas of the business. Outside of work, Seth enjoys reading, watching movies, and diving into video games.

Customer Service Representative

With 15 years of experience in customer service and 5 years in HR, Shelby Miller brings a wealth of knowledge and a customer-focused approach to The Grounds Guys. Her dedication and expertise ensure that both clients and team members receive the highest level of support and care. Shelby has been married to her husband, Zane, for seven years and is a proud mom to her 12-year-old daughter, Annastyn. In her free time, Shelby enjoys shopping, relaxing with her favorite TV shows, and savoring delicious meals.

Residential Sales

A proud United States Marine veteran, Chad is dedicated to serving others with the same commitment he brought to his military service. Happily married to his beautiful wife, Bridget, he is also a proud father of two sons, who are seniors this year. With eight years of experience in the lawn care industry, Chad is passionate about delivering quality service to his customers and building strong relationships within the community. As part of his role in sales, Chad provides expert solutions for all of your landscaping needs, ensuring exceptional results and customer satisfaction. In his free time, Chad enjoys hunting and fishing with his family, advocating for veterans, exploring new restaurants, and thanking God for the blessings in his life.
