Owners

We are incredibly proud to be a 100% Veteran Owned company. Jim dedicated 14 1/2 years to serving his country in both the US Navy and US Army before pursuing his Computer Science degree at St. Edwards University in Austin. Following that, he spent 21 years in the IT industry, working for esteemed companies like the VA, Dell, Compaq, and Hewlett Packard, where he found his specialization in storage, backup, and disaster recovery. Tina earned her degree in Business Administration with a Major in Marketing at Texas State University. For 13 years, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and was actively involved in their children's schools and activities. Their family includes two wonderful children: Christopher, who is now 27 and a budding Entrepreneur with an E-Commerce and Digital Business Managing businesses. Devin, currently in her Senior Year at Texas State, will graduate with a Bachelor of Science Major in Biochemistry in May 2025 and will then prepare to enter Medical School. In the Fall of 2018, Jim and Tina made a life-changing decision to leave Corporate America in search of something different, something more significant and fulfilling. They yearned for the opportunity to choose their daily work companions, to be the kind of bosses they had always wished for, and to make a positive impact on their community. Starting a small business was the pathway to realizing this dream. The Grounds Guys Franchise immediately caught their attention with its shared values and established systems and processes. The support from the home office in Waco, Texas, was an added bonus. Taking a leap of faith, they decided to join the team, and almost six years later couldn't be more convinced that it was the right choice. Every day, we have the privilege of working with an incredible team and serving amazing customers. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing the smiles on our clients' faces upon the completion of our projects and maintenance services. In 2023, we were honored by The Grounds Guys as Top Guns, representing the top 10% performing Franchise Owners in the Company. Expanding into Cedar Park and Leander that same was a game changer resulting in doubling business sales for 2024. Jim was honored as the Grounds Guys Brand Builder for 2023; we were invited to participate in Franchise Consultant Magazine July 2024 and the National Brand Commercial August 2024 and were named Brand VIP 2024 by the Grounds Guys President, Lori Johnson. We are both looking forward to what 2025 will bring.

Quality Assurance Manager

Milt is our new Quality Control Manager and one of our Transplanted Texans. He moved from Colorado Springs to help the owners establish the business and has been a valued team member since the company opened for business in February 2019. Milt has previously been part of the Project Team and served as the Irrigation and Turf Care Team Lead. Milt is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and he genuinely cares about his work, our clients, and our company. Bringing 20+ years of maintenance experience with him, Milt is honest, hardworking, friendly, and very responsive to the needs of our clients. Milt can handle a variety of project work and is always willing learn how to do new things to fulfill the wishes of the client. He is a proud Veteran of both the US NAVY and US ARMY and his desire to serve others, especially fellow Veterans, remains strong. Dedicated to the core, he will not be happy unless the client is happy.

Production Manager

Meet Nik Wahl, our outstanding Production Manager, who ensures top-quality service delivery at both our Pflugerville and Cedar Park locations. Nik joined our company in May 2023 as our Lawn Maintenance Lead and was promoted to Management in June 2024. He brings over 20 years of landscaping experience to the team. After earning a degree in Kinesiology, Nik’s passion for landscaping grew, prompting him to pursue a career in the industry. A proud native Texan, Nik is married with two incredible daughters, both of whom excel in dance at school. Yes, he’s the dedicated "Dance Dad" and wouldn’t have it any other way. Creating beautiful landscapes and making customers happy has been his lifelong passion. Nik's laid-back approach and management style have earned him great respect from both our team and our customers.

Office Manager

Meet Alejandra Gutierrez, our incredible Office Manager, who supports both our Pflugerville and Cedar Park locations. Ale joined our team in July 2023 as an Administrative Assistant and was quickly promoted to Office Manager. She adds tremendous value to our company with her beautiful smile, easygoing manner, and infectious personality, making her a favorite among both our customers and our staff. Ale has also improved many of our processes, making them more streamlined and efficient by leveraging various technology and digital tools. These efforts are focused on improving the customer experience, empowering our Field Crews to be more self-sufficient, and driving the growth of our company. When she's not working, Ale enjoys watching Anime and has a deep passion for traveling to different countries and learning about their cultures.
